2017 NBA All-Star Game
North Carolina’s prestige and economy has sustained a massive windfall as NBA Commissioner Adam Silver has announced Charlotte as the site of the 2017 NBA All-Star basketball game. Home to the Charlotte Hornets, the Queen City reaps the singular honor of having NBA legend, North Carolina native and Charlotte Hornets‘ owner Michael Jordan as advocate for the event.
“As has been the case since the building opened, we will continue to ensure that all fans, players and employees feel welcome while at work or attending NBA games and events at Time Warner Cable Arena,” said Jordan.
All-Star weekend is one of the flashiest and most lucrative events on the league’s annual schedule. In addition to the game, the league arranges three days full of activities for fans. There is a separate game for the league’s rising stars, a dunk contest and a 3-point contest.
